Wow, it's been a while since i've had full access to my account! Good to be back, i think. Let's see... what are the updates?...
The SC thorn in our side has also been on fetlife- printing out people's profiles, fyi. i think the damage, if any, is already done- so no need to erase, cover up, etc. Unfortunately, the kinds of things Ms. Thorn has been printing seem to be a one-dimensional view of our loving family. What i mean is, how much can you really tell about us by looking at our fetlife profiles? They say nothing of whether or not we insist our kids wash their hands before meal time, what family-oriented activities we engage in, etc. etc. etc. The profiles are on an adult site and deal with adult-only topics. Duh. But of course, Ms. Thorn is most likely judging our entire life and persona by the naked pics and fetishes listed. Grrr! Oh well, cross the thorny bridge if we ever come to it, i suppose.
My diet seems to be off track again, and i'm wondering if it's cyclical. i'll have to pay better attention to that. Right now, i'd be suprised if i'm still at 15 lbs. down, let alone closer to 20! i can't seem to stay away from chocolate lately, and other carbs (hello, breads!) are following close behind. Did i mention how YUMMY buttered popcorn is??
Reinar came up with two omg wonderful date activities... unfortunately, they are both at local museums and only available during the days when we work, or on the weekends that we'd prefer not to spend away from the whole family group. So we'll see what happens there. In related news, we've booked our trip to San Antonio for Labor Day weekend- yay! We've been saying for too long that we'd like to get away as just the two of us; it's good that we're finally making that happen. :)
Doodle isn't starting PreK until two weeks later than i originally thought. Phooey. i love the boy, but he is a handful when he's with the other D. They get along like brothers and, at this point, it's a toss up as to who instigates more crap between them. lol So, i'm looking forward eagerly to Sept. 8. We've already gotten his backpack, lunch set and school supplies. i'm SO excited for him to have this growth opportunity, more than anything! i hope that he keeps up his momentum of curiosity and absorption. Yesterday he wrote a few postcards to send family, and today he was pointing out the alliteration in our speech. *Shakes head in amazement* That boy...! Oh, and the reading continues to improve, too. i can just hand him stuff that he's asking questions about, and he'll get all the info he needs by reading up on it. ha!
jb is here all week. It's been a great example and start of actually living together. :) he's been working remotely, had the possibility of going to Charlotte later in the week (which has been cancelled), and has also been wonderful company and a tremendous help (as always) around the house and with the boys. Yippee!
We're going to Charleston with my sister this weekend. Can't wait to explore and see all the historical stuff! i think we may go to the aquarium, but not sure if that's a definite. Originally i thought it'd be a good idea because both Doodle and Wm would be with us (and i'm sure they wouldn't be thrilled about antiquing, etc. all day!). But now that Wm's not going, i'm wondering if we can keep Doodle entertained enough with legos and transformers, no matter what sights we see. lol Time will tell!
It's been so nice to have R home for the weekend/week. It's only Tuesday, but just being able to plan things around/with Him for the evenings has been good. It seems like our week is already booking up and getting eaten away- as is always the case. lol He'll be off thu/fri, to prep for and undergo a GI test. i'm nervous for Him, but so glad that it's getting done!
